Our Employees
Serv-Safe training
program
Akron Public Schools serves a daily average of 7,155 breakfasts and 18,709
lunches. In order to insure proper food handling procedures are practiced,
all Child Nutrition employees attend the Serv-Safe training program developed
by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. This training
is an ongoing process which began in 1998. Each employee must pass a written
examination in order to receive their
Serv-Safe Certification.
CPR
training In June of 2002, Child Nutrition Services held its first
CPR training session for Secondary School Cafeteria Managers. Training
was provided by
the Red Cross. In 2003 training was offered to additional Child Nutrition
employees throughout the school year.
The Child Nutrition
Services Department is dedicated to continually improving our meal
service to Akron Public Schools students through professional
development training for our employees.
Perfect
Attendance The Child Nutrition Department would like to extend a
very big THANK YOU
to the seventy Child Nutrition employees who had perfect attendance
for the entire 2003-2004 school year. We appreciate your dedication.
